How Can We Help?

Individual Therapy

At Nirvana Psychology, we provide evidence-based therapy tailored to your individual needs, goals, and life experiences. We support adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem concerns, and neurodivergence such as ADHD and autism. Using evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy, we work collaboratively to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours while developing practical strategies to improve your mental health, resilience, and overall wellbeing.

Family Therapy

Family therapy helps families improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their relationships in a supportive and structured environment. Our approach is inclusive, collaborative, and tailored to the unique needs of your family.

NDIS

We provide psychological support for NDIS participants with psychosocial disabilities and other eligible conditions, tailoring treatment to each individual’s goals, strengths, and support needs. We have experience supporting individuals with complex mental health presentations, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and co-occurring conditions. Therapy focuses on improving emotional wellbeing, building coping strategies, increasing independence, enhancing problem-solving skills, reducing social isolation and loneliness, and supporting meaningful participation in daily life and the community.

In addition to ongoing therapy, we provide comprehensive psychological reports and clinical documentation to support participants throughout their NDIS journey. This includes progress reports, plan review reports, support letters, and clinical recommendations that demonstrate therapeutic progress, ongoing support needs, and the impact of mental health on everyday functioning. Our reports are evidence-based, person-centred, and designed to assist participants, families, support coordinators, and the NDIA in making informed decisions about ongoing supports.

We believe quality psychological support should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where you live or the challenges you may face in attending appointments. To improve accessibility, we offer flexible appointment options tailored to your individual needs.

For NDIS participants, we provide:

  • Home visits across Melbourne for eligible participants who are unable to attend the clinic or would benefit from therapy in their own environment.
  • Australia-wide telehealth appointments, allowing you to access evidence-based psychological support from the comfort and privacy of your home.
  • In-person appointments at our Oakleigh clinic for those who prefer face-to-face sessions.

Couples Counselling

Couples counselling provides a safe and neutral space to strengthen your relationship, improve communication, and navigate challenges together.  Using evidence-based approaches, we support couples in creating healthier dynamics, resolving issues constructively, and building a more fulfilling partnership.

Adolescent Therapy

Adolescence can be a challenging time, with increasing academic demands, social pressures and significant life changes. We support young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, school-related stress, friendship and relationship difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, self-esteem concerns and family conflict. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where adolescents can  develop healthy coping strategies and navigate this important stage of life with confidence.

Telehealth

Access professional psychological support from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Our secure telehealth appointments provide the same evidence-based care as in-person sessions, making therapy more accessible for individuals with busy schedules, mobility challenges, health concerns, or those living in regional and remote areas.

Telehealth is suitable for adolescents and adults experiencing a range of concerns.

Whether you’re at home, at work, or travelling, telehealth allows you to access compassionate, personalised support wherever you are in Australia.

Telehealth is ideal for:

  • Busy professionals and parents
  • Regional and rural clients
  • Individuals with mobility or health limitations
  • Those who prefer the comfort and privacy of home
  • Clients seeking continuity of care while travelling

We provide comprehensive psychological assessments and reports to support funding applications, functional capacity evaluations, and clinical recommendations. This includes assessments for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Disability Support Pension (DSP), and other services requiring professional psychological documentation. Our reports are thorough, evidence-based, and tailored to accurately reflect your individual needs and circumstances.
